Mary Laveroni Community Park
Mary Laveroni Community Park is a vibrant 2.3-acre park located along Yosemite’s Highway 120 corridor, offering opportunities for EV charging, recreation, and access to a public restroom open 24 hours a day.
Originally built in the 1980s as Wayside Park, the site was renamed Mary Laveroni Community Park in August 2003 as part of GCSD’s 50th anniversary celebration, honoring one of the District’s first directors.
Parking
Two free public parking lots provide convenient access to the park, downtown Groveland, and YARTS.
For electric vehicles, two ChargePoint charging stations are available and maintained by Tuolumne County.
The Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System (YARTS) provides eco-friendly, stress-free public transit to Yosemite National Park and nearby communities.

Events
Mary Laveroni Community Park is home to several annual events like Movies in the Park, Rotary Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween Trunk or Treat, and the 49er Festival. In addition to these community events, the park is used by individual members of the community for various special events like weddings, fundraisers, and concerts.
Two areas can be reserved for private events:
Lower Park
For large gatherings, the lower park features a grass lawn, covered stage, concession stand, electricity and more. Rental is available for District items like chairs and tables.
Covered Picnic Area
Located next to the playground, the two covered picnic tables are ideal for larger picnics and birthday parties.
